About the award

It’s undeniable how important it is to promote inclusion and diversity within work experience for all students within a company. This award highlights company’s where there are a diverse attitude to staff, run recruitment initiatives aimed at increasing the diversity of their undergraduate students or they may just be a highly diverse place to gain work experience.

Why they won

The Civil Service demonstrated their commitment to diversity and inclusion through the sheer volume of opportunities specifically for candidates from diverse backgrounds. Their vision “to be the most inclusive early talent programme in the UK by 2020” is driven by continual improvements the most recent being, the launch of their new Autism Exchange Internship Programme. The Civil Service are constantly developing their offering which supports over 300 interns each year from BAME, lower socio-economic and disabled backgrounds.
