About the award

This award rewards societies who have a real passion in supporting their members with employability skills. The 10 shortlisted societies were invited to Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s HQ to take part in skill development workshops and pitch their case to a judging panel. Winners of this award take back £1,000 to help support their society with employability initiatives.

Why they won

The society have a dedicated focus on first years, organising a ‘First Year academy’, that includes a series of employability events to prepare them for spring insights.Their student mentor scheme matches final years with internship experience, with first and second-year students which has been extremely successful. The members were hugely passionate and their philosophy has resulted in the society being awarded the ‘Best Campaigning Society in the UK’ at last year’s National Society Awards.
