About the Award

This award celebrates the university careers / employability service which helps students apply and maximise their work experience opportunities. Going above and beyond to provide the best service for students in their university.

Why they won

  • The team have doubled sandwich placement participation in recent years and been increasingly flexible with the duration of placemens, ensuring they’re more accessible to students, which is particularly important given 70% students are from disadvantaged or underrepresented backgrounds.
  • They employ four placement students within the service to drive innovative, peer-to-peer engagement with students.
  • Their Skills hub has supported 35,000 activities, 200 timetables modules has reached over 9,000 students and a new project with their local city council generated 50 new work experience opportunities.
